As you can see, there are increases across the board, though there are a few things to note on these shipping rate changes heading into 2019:

  • In 2019, FedEx and UPS rates going up and so are their surcharges, which can substantially increase the cost to you depending on how and what you ship
  • USPS does not have additional surcharges for things like fuel, address verification, and Saturday delivery
  • USPS is changing First Class Package Service to Zone-based pricing, which increases the cost of using this service by an average of 12% overall—though it is still the most cost-effective method for packages under 1 lb.
  • USPS is applying Dimensional Weight (DIM Weight) across all services for all packages measuring over 1 cubic foot (you can see our detailed breakdown of DIM Weight here)

Please check out our blog for complete breakdowns of Dimensional Weight, First Class Package Service, and Parcel Select Ground, as well as a full overview of USPS shipping rate changes.
