We spoke to Jared at Guardian Survival Gear about ShippingEasy and this is what he had to say…
What do you love most about ShippingEasy?
There have been numerous benefits that we have enjoyed since switching to ShippingEasy. Our orders are never duplicated, everything is automatically pulled over into the software, and we have yet to see ShippingEasy crash like other programs we have tried. The convenience of being able to compare shipping prices between UPS, FedEx, and USPS cannot be overstated. With ShippingEasy we were able to save our customers money on shipping and give them more methods to choose from leading to better relationships with our consumer base. Tracking is quickly uploaded to Magento and the orders are placed into the “complete” status which keeps us from having to manually place them there. Customer service has always been top-notch and we have never had to wait around wondering when we will be able to ship again due to any technicality.
What shipping solution did you use before ShippingEasy?
Our warehouse would print all orders from Magento and separate the packing slips by FedEx, UPS, and USPS. The orders would be fulfilled based on how the item was being shipped so we would not accidentally ship a UPS order via FedEx or vice-versa. At the end of the day, we had to manually update tracking for all FedEx and USPS orders into our Magento platform turning what should have been a painless process into a very tedious situation. Our main challenges were maintaining organization and managing three different platforms for shipping.
We realized that our shipping process was becoming highly inefficient and having multiple shipping programs meant multiple software problems. We were constantly having to reset API’s or substitute one shipping method for another. There was no check in place for duplicate orders so occasionally we would end up double shipping if tracking was never uploaded to Magento. We switched from World Ship, Ship Manager, and Stamps.com after finding ShippingEasy through a Google search. We did have a few reservations due to the less than stellar experience we had with Ordoro, however, after the trial we took, it was clear that this system would work perfectly for our company.
What is your favorite ShippingEasy feature?
It will vary greatly depending on who you talk to in our company but for me, it is how it instantly shows the customers shipping method simply by hovering over “view requested service” icon. The ability to see what zone and what address type you are shipping to ranks right at the top as well.
