Cyber Monday 2016 is over, and the countdown to Christmas has already begun with a continued steady stream of orders and shipments. This year, ShippingEasy merchants experienced a huge spike in orders and shipments on the 28th.

To show just how large the increase was, we tabulated the total number of shipments for the month of November and plotted the volume.

An Impressive Increase in Shipping Volume

This Cyber Monday mobile conversion rates jumped a whopping 50%, which helps explain why ShippingEasy merchants experienced double the shipping volume that day as compared to the rest of the month. Online shopping is also at its highest ever, up 6.8% from 2015, with over 122 million people making purchases on Cyber Monday.

Merchants also took advantage of offering additional shipping service levels to help drive sales, including: free shipping, Saturday delivery, and free, easy, no-questions-asked returns with prepaid labels.

‘Tis the Season to be Shopping after Christmas

Christmas no longer marks the end of the shopping frenzy. Last year, a study showed that 65.9% of holiday shoppers planned to shop – both browsing and buying – retailers’ after-Christmas sales. Online sellers should be prepared to take advantage of deal-driven consumers with promotions and campaigns to drive repeat business. If you’ve already spotted Customer Management Beta in the ShippingEasy platform, then you’re on your way to being able to market to customers to drive repeat purchases. If not, be sure to turn the new feature on- it’s FREE!

This data is from a subset of ShippingEasy’s 20,0000+ merchants who are actively shipping on the ShippingEasy platform in 2016.
